Strategic Sourcing Category Director - Point of Sale and Print

Purpose of the role
The Strategic Sourcing Category Director, Point of Sale & Print owns category outcomes across the Americas for a major spend domain covering Point of Sale and Printed materials. Sets the category vision, supplier panel strategy, governance model, and performance standards. Partners directly with senior stakeholders to deliver multi-year savings, profitability, and risk management results.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio strategy & governance

• Define category roadmaps, supplier panel design, and the operating rhythm (QBRs, performance standards, escalation pathways).
• Set policy for preferred supplier compliance, exceptions, and client-specific overlays (e.g., FSC, color management, sampling SLAs).
• Develop high-impact executive presentations to secure leadership approval for panel design, commercial models, and transformation initiatives.

Commercial architecture

• Lead high-impact commercial frameworks: rebates/fees, rate-card strategies, indexation, service-level credits, and implementation controls.
• Protect profitability through disciplined scope control, value engineering, and pricing governance.

Executive stakeholder leadership

• Influence Account Leadership and buying team adoption; resolve conflicts among speed, cost, quality, and compliance.
• Present category performance to senior leadership with crisp financial narratives.
• Present category performance, commercial frameworks, and strategic supplier initiatives to senior leadership and key client stakeholders.
• Represent the sourcing function in QBRs and strategic client reviews.

Supplier ecosystem leadership

• Own top-tier supplier relationships; negotiate strategic agreements and performance improvement programs.
• Drive innovation: materials, sustainability options, manufacturing process improvements, and standardization.

Team leadership

• Develop Category Managers/Senior CMs; enforce best practices and a consistent sourcing methodology.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Exposure

• 12+ years in procurement/category leadership, preferably with marketing materials, packaging, print, displays, or premiums.
• Demonstrated leadership across complex stakeholder networks and supplier markets.
