What You'll Do
Implement solutions in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Golang).
Support research system development using best practices in design and engineering.
Work closely with senior researchers to translate domain-specific requirements into implemented systems.
Develop and test applications, tools, and research prototypes.
Gather and analyze data to evaluate system performance and application effectiveness.
Contribute to technical documentation, presentations, and research publications.
Stay current with emerging technologies through research publications, tutorials, and conferences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external research partners.
Required Qualifications
Education
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
Combined education and experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
Experience
Less than 1 year to 3 years of relevant experience
Technical Skills
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C++, Golang)
Experience working in Linux environments
Experience with Virtual LAN (VLAN) and/or Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN)
Experience with:
Mellanox switches
SDN programming
Ansible, Bash, Nagios
Prometheus
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
IT protocols such as BGP, SSH, TLS
iptables and Network File System (NFS)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a research environment
Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace)
Familiarity with Docker and containerization
Experience supporting large-scale integration systems
The Associate Research Engineer supports research initiatives by implementing technical solutions to novel research problems. Working closely with senior research staff, this role contributes to research prototypes, independently develops components of larger systems, and participates in applied research projects. You will help design, develop, and implement technology research projects while investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles to emerging technologies and products. Position requires U.S. citizen with active Top Secret (TS) clearance and SCI eligibility. The position is based in Arlington, VA
