Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we're looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team!

Position: Melt Shop Forklift / Remote Crane Operator

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate large industrial forklifts and other heavy equipment carts to properly load and unload material, ladles, etc. within the department and to other areas of the facility as needed

• Operate a remote handheld crane in the Melt Shop

• Comfortable moving material and heavy loads up to 28k pounds

• Comfortable working around melted iron and melting/pouring iron operations

• Ability to maneuver in congested areas while operating in a safe manner.

• Perform other duties within the Melt Shop as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

• At lest 2 years prior forklift and remote crane experience is required.

• Must have valid state driver's license.

• Established skills in operating equipment in a safe manner.

• Demonstrated competency in loading, unloading, and stacking materials.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Heavy manufacturing environment

• Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.

• Perform physical activities that require use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.

• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full Time. Hourly, non-exempt.
